Check out SmartEconomist.com. It's a very interesting site that is attempting to provide easy-to-read summaries of current research being done in a wide variety of econ and finance-related areas. Their summaries are relatively "tech-speak" free", and break down the major findings of the papers nicely. At present, they don't have summaries for that many papers up yet, but the few that I read were pretty much right on target.
